A grease trap is a plumbing receptacle into which wastewater containing FOG (fats, oil and grease) and food waste flows through before they enter a drainage system. This receptacle is usually installed under a sink, designed to intercept or “trap” the FOG while allowing clear water to flow into pipes or drains.
